Detra Kay
 Detra Kay has been an artist all of her life. Her formal art education from the University of Florida and Oglethorpe University gave her a strong design foundation. She followed a career that took her from office manager in her husband's dental practice to a career in Palm Beach real estate, all the while meeting the demands of raising a family. For 22 years her passion for art stayed alive as she passed through a variety of artistic endeavors, developing her skills, particularly in sculpting and jewelry design.
Finally, she found a career in the expression of an abiding passion for jewelry. The result is her company, DETRA KAY JEWELRY DESIGN.
 She had initial success with Jacobson's Department Store, where she rapidly emerged as one of their leading jewelry designers. Currently, she is featured in fifteen premier department stores and elegant boutiques around the country.
Her jewelry is "fresh" and "different," emphasizing personal service to create the most
flattering design for the individual customer. She draws her inspiration from the beauty that
she sees in natural materials, creating images with semi-precious stones, gold silver, pearls,
vintage pieces and objects d'art from designers around the world.
 Detra's pieces can be described as colorful, exotic, floral, ethnic, classic or wonderfully unique. Her range defies "having a look" except that its character is always distinctive.
