Diane Snyder Cashmere Care Guide

Cashmere Care

  • Cashmere knitwear can be handwashed as it is gentle on your clothes as well as the environment

Handwashing Instructions:

  • Turn inside out to wash as this is where stains and odors buildup closest to your body and underarms
  • Prepare a bath of lukewarm water - maximum 30 degrees - containing a mild shampoo (remember it is goat hair)
  • Leave to soak 20-30 minutes
  • Rinse well running room temperature water until soapy water is gone
  • Press out extra water taking care not to stretch sweater
  • On a flat surface, smooth sweater back in shape
  • Dry flat, away from sunlight or direct heat

Storage

  • Clean your sweaters before you store them. Moths are attracted to natural fibers when dirty or stained
  • Gently fold and store in a breathable zip-up plastic bag
  • Do not hang your sweaters as it can distort the shape of the shoulders
  • Properly stored and cared for, cashmere can last for many seasons
